Overview

Overview

Learn how to provide first aid responses to infants, children and adults.

Designed for educators and support staff working in the education and care industry, this short course will provide you with skills in effective first aid response, including asthmatic and anaphylactic emergencies.

This course consists of 7 hours e-learning and 7 hours (full day) face-to-face delivery.

You will gain knowledge of:

  • responding to an emergency situation
  • applying appropriate emergency first aid procedures
  • communicating details of the incident
  • evaluating incidents and your own performance.

At the end of the course you will receive a statement of attainment for the nationally accredited unit 'HLTAID004: Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting'. This unit of competency may contribute towards approved first aid, asthma and anaphylaxis training under the Education and Care Services National Law, and the Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011).

Entry requirements

Meeting the minimum admission requirements does not guarantee you entry into this course.

Some courses receive more applications than the number of places available. In this situation we will also assess your education, work and other relevant experience.
